Tea Room Salad ©1932

Serves 8

1 package Lemon Jell-O
1 cup warm water
1 can (1-1/4 cups) tomato soup
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 packages (6 ounces) cream cheese
1-1/2 cups celery, finely diced
3/4 cup mayonnaise
Lettuce for serving
Mayonnaise for garnish

Dissolve Jell-O in warm water. Add tomato soup and vinegar. Chill. Cream cheese until soft. Add celery and mayonnaise. When Jello-O is cold and syrupy, fold in cheese mixture. Chill until slightly thickened. Turn into individual molds. Chill until firm. Unmold on crisp lettuce. Garnish with mayonnaise.
